Xavier’s carriage pulled up to the front of his mansion. His stately home was left to him by his father and as Duke of Windswick it was also the seat of his dukedom. Xavier stepped down from his carriage and looked up at his house. It was a fortified mansion. Not as large as a castle but almost. Xavier loved being at his home. It signified the wealth and power that Xavier possessed. It was also the place where he actually felt safe and secure. He did not need to watch his back all the time here. That is what his guards were paid to do. He was in control of everything here. He was a very strict man to work for and loyalty was the most important quality he looked for when hiring a servant or guard.
Xavier did not have very many friends at his estate, just his servants. There was one companion that Xavier had here and it was his familiar named Arabella. Arabella was a big beautiful Siberian husky with blue eyes. Arabella was the most loyal and helpful companion. She was his best friend and they could communicate with each other from very long distances away. They could hear each other’s thoughts and talked all the time. Arabella was almost always by Xavier’s side.
Xavier walked into his mansion just long enough to grab some necessities, and to get Arabella for his next journey into the forest.
